Energiekontor picks up speed during the first quarter of 2025 Bremen, 15 May 2025 – Energiekontor AG (“Energiekontor”), one of the leading German project developers and operators of wind and solar parks, based in Bremen and listed in the General Standard, has vigorously driven project development and the expansion of its own park portfolio in the first quarter of 2025. Several projects in Germany and abroad are already at an advanced stage of the sales process. A large number of approved and awarded projects provide additional potential for sales and expansion. During the first quarter of 2025, Energiekontor commissioned the Letschin solar park in Brandenburg, Germany, with a total nominal capacity of 60.0 megawatt peak as planned and transferred it to the Group’s own portfolio. The solar park has a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) and has been contributing to the earnings of Energiekontor’s power generation segment since March 2025. The total nominal output of the Group-owned wind and solar parks was therefore increased by around twelve percent to almost 444 megawatts. The solar share is now around 19 percent. An additional six wind and solar projects with around 160 megawatts are currently being constructed for Energiekontor’s own park portfolio, which will increase total generation capacity to more than 600 megawatts in future. The next step is to commission the Königsfeld solar park in the Black Forest, Germany, with a capacity of around five megawatt peak. As at 31 March 2025, a total of twelve projects with a total generation output of around 359 megawatts were in preparation or under construction. In addition to the six projects mentioned above for the Group’s own portfolio, this relates to three UK wind park projects already sold. Three German wind projects with a total nominal output of more than 50 megawatts also reached financial close during the first quarter of 2025. All three projects have been granted EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) surcharges by the German Federal Network Agency and are due to go on sale. As at the reporting date, a total of 36 building permits had been granted for a total generation capacity of around 1.3 gigawatts (31 December 2024: 1.1 gigawatts). Almost two thirds of these permits are attributable to the UK project business. The first two permits for two French solar park projects are also included, and they are expected to reach financial close soon and are intended for Energiekontor’s own park portfolio too. Both projects had already successfully participated in the tendering process of the French Energy Regulatory Commission during the financial year 2024 and were awarded contracts. In addition, during the first quarter of 2025, nine German projects with building permits received EEG surcharges for a total generation output of around 197 megawatts as part of the German Federal Network Agency’s tenders (of which just under five megawatt peak for ground-mounted solar, the rest for onshore wind). All projects are to reach financial close during the next step, if they have not already done so. For the financial year 2025, Energiekontor is aiming for a large number of financial closes overall so that the projects can be prepared for subsequent sale or transfer to Energiekontor’s own portfolio. “We have a strong project pipeline with many projects that have a high degree of maturity. We are pulling out all the stops in order to gradually reap the rewards of our success. This applies both to sales activities for our projects and to the consistent and economically viable expansion of our own portfolio,” says Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG. “In the project development and sales segment, Group net profit (EBT) for the current financial year 2025 is expected to be generated as planned from project sales in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States (solar). Sales negotiations are currently ongoing for several projects within and outside of Germany. Some of these negotiations are already at an advanced stage. We therefore expect the first contracts to be signed over the coming weeks.” The interim report for the first quarter of 2025 can be viewed at https://www.energiekontor.de/en/investor-relations/financial-reports.html, as can the annual report for the financial year 2024, which contains additional information about the outlook for the current financial year 2025 and the 2023 to 2028 growth strategy. The Annual General Meeting of Energiekontor AG will take place as an in-person event on 2 July 2025 in Ritterhude near Bremen, Germany. The invitation to the Annual General Meeting and further information will be made available on the website at https://www.energiekontor.de/en/investor-relations/annual-general-meeting.html in due course during the second half of May 2025.
